Bangladesh:BGMEA office bearers elected

The newly-elected board of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters’ Association on Monday elected the office bearers to lead the apparel sector’s premier trade body for the next two years.
Abdus Salam Murshedy, leader of the winning panel at the BGMEA polls held on February 24 and managing director of Envoy Group, has been elected president of the association.
Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, managing director of Eastern Apparels Limited, has been elected the first vice-president, Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin of Onus Group the second vice-president, and Faruk Hasan of Giant Group vice-president.
Starling Group managing director Siddiqur Rahman has been elected the vice-president (finance).
The new office bearers will take over charges from the incumbents led by Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury Parvez at the annual general meeting of BGMEA slated for Thursday.
