Japan Fashion Week: Fall 2009

TOKYO—Japan Fashion Week is in full swing and offering up plenty of theatrics from the models in Mexican boxing masks at Né-net to the eerily lifelike robot that introduced the Shinmai show for emerging design talents.

Thankfully, the clothes have been just as interesting, including a vast assortment of delicate dresses, structured outerwear and innovative knits.

Although the official fashion week began Monday and runs through Sunday March 29, Y’s Red Label and mercibeaucoup got ahead of the game and staged their shows last week.
